John 8:48-59, “Then the Jews answered and said to Him, “Do we not say rightly that You are a Samaritan and have a demon?”
“Jesus answered, “I do not have a demon; but I honor My Father, and you dishonor, Me. And I do not seek My own glory; there is One who seeks and judges. Most assuredly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word, he shall never see death.”
“Then the Jews said to Him, “Now we know that You have a demon! Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and You say, ‘If anyone keeps My word, he shall never taste death.’ Are You greater than our father Abraham, who is dead? And the prophets are dead. Who do You make Yourself out to be?”
“Jesus answered, “If I honor Myself, My honor is nothing. It is My Father who honors Me, of whom you say that He is your God. Yet you have not known Him, but I know Him. And if I say, ‘I do not know Him,’ I shall be a liar like you; but I do know Him and keep His word. Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.”
“Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?” “Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.”
Rephrased, “In response, the Jews questioned Him, asking if it was right to assert that He was a Samaritan and had a demon?”
Jesus stated, “My behavior comes from honoring My Father and not being possessed by a demon. I don’t search for my own glory, that responsibility lies with another. And I can say with certainty, if someone follows My teachings, they will never experience death.”
The Jews posed a question to Jesus, challenging His claim that whoever keeps His word will never die. They asked Him, how this was true since Abraham and the prophets were all dead? They wanted to know, who He thought He was if He made such an incredible statement?”
“Jesus replied, “I don’t get any glory for honoring Myself. The only one who will honor Me is God – the same God you claim to worship, yet you don’t truly know Him. But I do know Him. If I said otherwise, it would be a lie.” I understand the lies you tell, but I follow God and His word. Your ancestor Abraham was so excited to know My day will come, that he saw it and was extremely pleased.”
“The Jews asked Jesus, “You are still quite young – you didn’t live when Abraham was alive. How can you have seen him?” To which Jesus replied, “Yes, I tell you without a doubt – before Abraham existed, I AM.” The crowd had stones in their hands, ready to throw at Jesus; however, He managed to conceal himself and went out of the temple by passing through the middle of them.”
Exodus 3:13-14, “Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?”
And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”
Rephrased, “Moses then asked God, “If I visit the Israelites and tell them that their ancestors’ God has sent me, what should I call Him? They’ll want to know His name.” What shall I say to them?”
“Moses heard God speaking to him, saying: “I AM WHO I AM”. He was further instructed to tell the Israelites that it was ‘I AM’ who had sent him to them.”
The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit have always been central to the concept of the Holy Trinity, each person of which is equal to God. God spoke to Moses saying, ‘I AM WHO I AM’, signifying His eternal existence and providence throughout history. This eternal existence was reiterated by Jesus when he said ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.’ By this statement He clearly showed that life itself comes from Him – He is the way and the truth and only through Him we can find salvation, by accepting Him as our Lord and Savior.
Repents is verbal convenient between you and God Almighty, as Christ is mediator, and the Holy Spirit is the Eternal witness. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are thus essential for understanding the Christian faith and for finding strength in our spiritual journey.
Romans 10:1-13, “Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For they are being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.”
“For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, “The man who does those things shall live by them.” But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (That is, to bring Christ down from above) or “‘Who will descend into the abyss?’” (That is, to bring Christ up from the dead).”
“But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Rephrased, “I have faith that my fellow Israelites will be saved by God, and it is my sincere prayer to Him. I can attest to their deep dedication to religion but, as of now, lack in terms of knowledge about Him. People who are unaware of God’s righteousness and instead focus on their own will not be accepted by God. Christ is the only path to true righteousness, and those who believe in Him are guaranteed His salvation.”
“Moses emphasizes the importance of following the law, as those who do will live by it. He says that “The man who does those things shall live by them.” Faith speaks in a different way, assuring us that we don’t need to go up to Heaven or down into the abyss to bring Christ. We can simply trust and rely on our faith in Him. But what does it mean? It means if you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe wholeheartedly that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
“This is what we call the word of faith – it’s near to you, in your mouth and in your heart. Belief in the heart leads to true righteousness, and when we confess with our mouths, salvation is assured. Scripture promises that those who put their faith in Him will never be disappointed. It doesn’t matter what religion or background someone is, the same God is rich in mercy and grace to all who call out to Him. According to scripture, anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Hebrew 9:14-15, “But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.”
“For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this reason, He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.”
Rephrased, “Christ’s entrance into the Most Holy Place was remarkable- He did not use animals’ blood, but his own. This action signified the greater and more perfect tabernacle that was yet to come and procured everlasting redemption for us all. The sacrificial offerings of animals in the Old Testament could purify from physical impurities, but the blood of Jesus has power to cleanse from spiritual defilements.”
“Through His death and resurrection, Christ’s blood provides total redemption enabling us to serve the Lord faithfully. Jesus is the Mediator of the new covenant, who sacrificed His life to redeem us from our transgressions under the first covenant. For this reason, He extends an unconditional promise of eternal inheritance to all those who accept His invitation.”
The Holy Trinity is a concept that has been intriguing individuals for centuries. It is a doctrine within Christianity that states that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are three distinct persons but equally one God. This concept is largely associated with Jesus, who spoke of himself as the “I AM” in some of his teachings.
The term “I AM” has come to represent God in his ultimate power and authority, emphasizing His eternal nature as well as His right to be worshipped. In addition, Jesus also used this term when he, spoke of Himself being the way, the truth, and the life through whom salvation can be obtained. Thus, we understand that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit have always been associated with equality to God and they provide us with strength and guidance through faith.
John 14:1-6, “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
“Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father (God) except through Me.”
Rephrased, “You can have faith in God and in Me. There are many dwellings in My Father’s House, something I would have told you if it were not true. I’m preparing a special place for you, so don’t be distressed. If I prepare a place for you, I will return and take you with Me, which would mean that you’ll be in the same place that I am. You know where I’m heading and how to get there.”
“Thomas posed a question to Him, “Lord, if we don’t know where You’re headed, how can we find the right path?”” “Jesus expressed that He is the only one that can lead someone to the Father and declared, “I am the way, the truth and the life. One cannot reach God without going through Me.””
The Holy Trinity, the concept of three distinct persons within the single Godhead, has been an integral part of both Christianity and Catholic doctrine since antiquity. According to this practice, God is simultaneously present as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. To illustrate this concept, Jesus spoke to his disciples saying “Most assuredly I say to you before Abraham was, I AM”- declaring that he himself was fully God in one being.
Moreover, he proclaims later “I am the way and the truth and the life; no man shall reach eternal salvation unless through me”- further affirming his sacred role in mankind’s quest for grace and eternal rest. With such piercing words it becomes clear that Jesus subsequently shares not just equal, but superior position in terms of authority across all other members of The Holy Trinity.
Act 4:8-12, “Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders of Israel: If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well, let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole.”
“This is the ‘stone, which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’ Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Rephrased, “Peter, empowered by the Holy Spirit, addressed the rulers of Israel and their elders saying: “If I am being judged today for the good deed of healing a helpless man, then how was he healed?” Everyone here, as well as all of Israel, should be aware that this man stands in front of you in perfect health because of Jesus Christ from Nazareth – the one who you crucified but whom God brought back to life.”
“This is the ‘stone which was not considered worthy by you builders and has now become the key cornerstone.’ Apart from Jesus, there is no other way to be saved. He is the only one who can help us and give us everlasting life. There is no other name that has been given among men that can save us.”
The Father, Son, and The Holy Spirit have long been recognized as equal to God in the Holy Trinity. This has been a fundamental part of the Christian faith since Jesus Christ revealed its true meaning to his disciples. One example of this can be seen when God spoke to Moses saying, “I AM WHO I AM” (Exodus 3:14). Jesus further clarifies this with His words to His disciples by saying “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM” (John 8:58).
Through this statement he is essentially claiming divinity. He is the only way of obtaining salvation and following Him is the only way to attain everlasting life. He is the Way, The Truth and The Life (John 14:6). Through these examples it becomes clear why believing in the Father, Son and The Holy Spirit makes up an essential part of a Christian’s faith.
Philippians 2:5-11, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.”
“Therefore, God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name, which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Rephrased, “Christ’s mindset ought to be imitated – that in the form of God, He did not consider equality with God something to be taken advantage of. He humbled Himself and took up the form of a servant, becoming like us humans. Jesus Christ, although appearing in human form, humbly submitted to the will of God and obediently accepted suffering and death on the cross.”
“Consequently, God has highly elevated Him and honored Him with a name that surpasses all other names. The divine power of Jesus is such that every being – be it in the heavens, on earth, or beneath the earth – should bow before Him and proclaim that He is the Lord. This is done to bring glory to our Heavenly Father.”
The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit has been the cornerstone of Christianity since the days of Moses. They are recognized as being equal to God in the concept known as The Holy Trinity. It is believed that this trinity is one singular being with three aspects: God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and The Holy Spirit.
Throughout time and in different cultures a usage of “I AM” has been made to refer to a higher power or deity. This is no more evident than when in Exodus 3:14-15 God spoke to Moses and said, “I AM WHO I AM”. Jesus later confirmed his sonship when he said to them “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM” (John 8:58).
As He navigated the world with His disciples from Galilee he was often heard saying “I am the way, the truth and life” (John 14:6). Through these acts we are able truth surrender our lives to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as the verbal confession of us being sinner in need a savior in faith we saved from Death, Hell, and the Grave, and in an act of surrendering our lives to Christ, we are baptized. Remember Jesus didn’t need to be save because He was sinless. His baptism was His way of surrendering His Will to the will of His Heavenly Father, God.
Matthew 3:14-17, “Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. And John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?”
“But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him.”
“When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
Rephrased, “Subsequently, Jesus traveled from Galilee to John at the Jordan River for his baptism. John was opposed to this and said, “It should be You who baptizes me – why are You coming to me?””
“Jesus responded and said to him, “It must be this way now. It is necessary for us to do what is right in the sight of God.” After hearing this, he permitted it.”
“Immediately after He was baptized, Jesus rose out of the water and the heavens opened. Then, He saw the Spirit of God come down like a dove and rest upon Him. At that moment, a voice emanating from heaven declared that Jesus was His beloved Son, and that God was pleased with Him.”
John 1:29-34, “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! This is He of whom I said, ‘After me comes a Man who is preferred before me, for He was before me.’ I did not know Him; but that He should be revealed to Israel, therefore I came baptizing with water.”
“And John bore witness, saying, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him. I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”
Rephrased, “The following morning, John noticed Jesus coming his way and exclaimed in awe: “Look! Here is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world!” This is Jesus, the one I spoke of – ‘After me will come Someone who is far greater than I am, for He was alive before I was born.’ Though I did not recognize Him then, He had to be made known to Israel. That’s why I came here to baptize with water.”
“John testified to what he saw, saying “I saw the Spirit of God coming down from the Heavens like a dove and resting on Jesus. I had not known Him before, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me: ‘The One on whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining is the One who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ Personally, I can vouch for the fact that Jesus is indeed the Son of God.”
For centuries, the Father, Son, and The Holy Spirit have been regarded as equal to God in The Holy Trinity. This includes Jesus Christ as the way, the truth and the life. In the Bible God spoke to Moses saying: “I AM WHO I AM” which ultimately points at Jesus being all-powerful and capable of bringing salvation.
Furthermore, when Jesus stood before his disciples he declared: “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” This statement further confirms His deity of being omnipresent and everlasting. Therefore, we can be sure that from The Father down to The Holy Spirit they are all equal in power under God and they each represent a part of salvation itself.
Acts 2:38-39, “Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”
Rephrased, “Peter urged people to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Doing so would bring them remission from their sins and give them the gift of the Holy Spirit. He further assured that this promise extends not only to those present, but also to their children and future generations who would be called by the Lord.”
