1 John 4:7-11, Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
WOW! Did you know, propitiation means the atoning sacrifice? In the Jewish faith they have a day called Yom Kippur, which is the Day of Atonement. I am thankful. God loved me enough to send Jesus to die. So, Yom Kippur could be everyday instead one day out of the year, and for giving us the opportunity to live with him for eternity through Jesus Christ.
The greatest part, all he asks is for us to follow four simple steps: Believe, Admit, Repent, and Choose aka B.A.R.C.
Believe: God sent Jesus to live a sinless life, to die on the cross, and to raise again three days later.
Romans 10:10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
Admit: I am sinner in need of a saver; and Jesus is the way the truth and the life and there is no other way for salvation except though him.
Romans 3:23, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Repent: Confess your sins before the Lord with a pure heart and a willing mind. 1 John 1:8-10, “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.”
Choose: You must make a daily decision to live from this day forward for Christ and obey the Holy Word of God and his commandments.
John 15:7-10, “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so, you will be My disciples. As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.”
So, do you believe in baptism? Yes, it’s important because baptism but water is the physical act of our spiritual surrender.
Acts 2:38-39, “Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”
However, before you are baptized, the first thing is to Believe, Admit, Repent, and Choose. So, how do I B.A.R.C.?
You pray from your heart. I cannot do it for you, although I’d like too. I can’t because it must come sincerely from your heart; however, I can help you. Everyone bows your heads and close your eyes. If you want to come up front and pray you can however God knows your heart you pray simple prayer like this.
You say a prayer like this. Noted: It’s not the prayer that saves you. It is your heart and mind behind it. Because you are making a willful decision through the purity of your heart. The pray is like this.
Lord Jesus, I ask You to come into my life and forgive me of all my sins. I confess my sins before You this day. I denounce Satan and all his works. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. Thank You for saving me. I believe with my heart, and I confess with my mouth that You rose from the dead. I am saved. Write my name in the Lamb’s book of life. Today is my God-day with the Lord Jesus! I pray this prayer to the Father in the name of Jesus. Amen.
